Microsoft must think people are quite stupid, or at least gullible. Various security problems don’t seem to cause people too much concern, but most don’t understand the risks, so that’s not too surprising. What is surprising is that people will actually use websites with terrible design and huge animated adverts.
Would you rather use this?
Or this?
I’m still wondering why people let the world’s largest corporations read their personal email. There are strong objections raised when governments talk about tapping and recording phone calls, but what’s the difference between Microsoft or Google handling your email and your phone company recording every call you make, doing speech recognition on it and storing the text forever?
If it was suggested that all phone calls should be recorded, transcribed and kept for future reference, would you object? Do you think that this is ok because you ‘have nothing to hide’? Would you care if the postal companies steamed open every single letter you sent or received and took a copy?
