I recently installed Google Chrome I'm used to using Adblock Plus with Firefox so was quite sad to see adverts once again.
Ad Muncher to the rescue! It runs as a proxy in Windows, so it also blocks ads for IE, Live Messenger, etc. If it doesn't block ads for you, run Google Chrome and right-click on Ad Muncher's icon. Choose 'Configure', then 'Options' and 'Filter Targets'. Now click on 'chrome' in 'Recent Program Names' and click the 'Filter' button to move it to the 'Filter targets' list.
